Vetiver is a plant too.
Vetiver arrived last week and I'm almost finished with her customizations (waiting til next paycheck to get new eyechips.) So here are her stock and "so far" pictures!

This way! )

Vervain is actually a plant.
Except for needing eyelashes and being nekkid, Vervain is all finished!

Here she is! )

Vervain is actually a plant.
The Brainworm eyechips arrived yesterday! I'm glad I had a hole punch that was the perfect size for the pupils, so making the "foils" was really easy.
I've learned that taking a Blythe apart is fairly simple, but getting her back together can be pretty annoying. I never could've gotten the eyemech back in without my boyfriend to manhandle it. Putting the spring back in place was a pain too. I think I managed to glue her scalp back on pretty successfully, but it didn't want to stay glued in the very back, even though I used Zap-a-Gap. Oh well, her hair covers it.
Another thing I've learned...Blythe bodies stain SUPER easily. Just from sitting out nekkid on my dining room table, she's got several tiny black dots on her arms and legs. I have no idea where they came from.
BUT ANYWAY...hopefully I can take some decent pictures tomorrow, since it'll be dark by the time I get home from work today. And she still doesn't have anything to wear...maybe I'll get something off Etsy to hold her over until I can make her a few things.

Highlights

The saran hair I ordered from dollyhair.com came today! It's so soft, and the colors are accurate to her chart. Bitter chocolate is my favorite; it's such a rich, warm color.
So far I've learned these things about rerooting -
It takes some serious patience.
It's very easy to bend an 11-12 crochet needle (eheheheheh.)
I imagine that doing a total reroot would be a little easier than just highlights, since you wouldn't have all the original hair getting in the way. I used a sewing needle to poke new holes in the scalp where I needed them.
I also got some hair perfume from Dollyhair...the "ginger lime," to be specific. It smells DELICIOUS. I wonder if I can use it in my own hair...maybe I'll ask!
I guess Vervain will start chatting here once she's feeling a little more whole. We're still waiting on the Brainworm eyechips to arrive...after that she'll be all done!

Hello!

Hello to all Vervain's new friends. Thanks for adding us back!

Stocky Vervain.

Vervain is actually a plant.
Vervain arrived on November 2. She came while I was at work with not a stitch to wear, so I made her a dress out of a paper towel and a bit of ribbon. Here are her stock photos, and these will be her only stock photos, since she's already had these customizations -

Scalp removed (set aside for rooting highlights)
Face sand matted
Lips, nose, and eyes carved
New makeup (acrylic lips and eyelashes, pastel blush and eyeshadow)

Now we're waiting for some saran hair and Brainworm eyechips to arrive so she can be finished and put back together. I'll post a more detailed account of all her customizations when she's done and ready for her close-up.

Now without further ado, the photos. )
